Our friend Mandy, a kindergarten teacher and super-mom, shares her recipe for Oobleck (yes, the same Oobleck from Dr. Seuss' Bartholomew and the Oobleck). This is a great sensory activity for rainy days and just in time for Halloween Party fun.
This weekend I made two big batches of Oobleck. One for my Kindergarten class and one for my kiddos at home. It's so easy and the kids LOVE it. It's just cornstarch and water. I usually use about two containers of cornstarch and slowly add water while mixing with a wooden spoon. The one for my kids at home I added orange food dye and put plastic spider rings inside. It's meant to be a sensory exploration activity, so it does get messy. However, when it dries it easily wipes clean with just water. I usually keep it for a couple of days in an airtight container or Ziplock bag, then throw away.
Thanks Mandy!
