Love it, Hate it, or Keep Looking?

Hello MNH friends.  I need your opinion.  We recently moved into a home and stripped almost all the wall from EVERY room.  Whew!  The kitchen is the last to go and I'm thinking of  re-wallpapering rather than painting.  Something about wallpaper in the kitchen reminds me of my childhood.  I found this paper at Anthropologie.com and I love the colors and I think with modern white cabinets, white/grey marble counter tops and stainless hardware, it could look fabulous.  But it's waaaay out of my comfort zone so, I want to know...do you love it, hate it, or think I should keep looking?

Thanks for your help!

~Amanda

I could totally see this wallpaper in your kitchen with carrara marble counters.  Just trying to decide whether or not white or stainless appliances would complete the look? Do you have hardwood floors in the kitchen?  If not, that is key to the overall look too!!!

keep looking… it’s pretty and I like the idea of wallpaper, but this one reminds me of Horton Hears a Who. similar color scheme and lines. sorry.

Can totally picture this at Anthro, but think it might be better suited in their bedding section.  Simple is probably best for the kitchen, especially if you’re getting quality appliances, that should be the focal point. According to my architect husband, a well-lit, clean, organized kitchen will always be “in”.  Maybe focus on the lighting fixtures if you don’t have great natural light.  Good luck!

Love the vintage feel… go for it.  I’m obsessed with wallpaper.

I really like. Especially because Sam hates it.
He he.

It is a risk, but I think it will look good as long as you do not have too much large space to cover.

So pretty Amanda!  But, maybe not for the kitchen?  I have wallpapered a few places in my new home too.  One thing I have learned, wallpaper is definitely more fragile than paint.  If it gets wet, its pretty much ruined.  You will get “rings” on it from steam & wetness in the kitchen.  Try it in a hallway or even a small bathroom.  But, if you do it in the bathroom, put up some wainscotting too.  It will protect the paper.  Hope you are great!

Thank you SO much for all the feedback and great advice!  I’m going to keep looking.  I’ll keep you posted.  Meanwhile, if you see something you want to share…please do!
Thanks Again!
