If you have a room that is lacking in character, add a mirror. Mirrors have the ability to create a luxurious feel and the illusion of a much larger space in any room of the house for very few dollars. Don't be afraid of the size, the bigger the better when it comes to mirrors.
Here are a few tips and tricks from designers in the July/August 2010 issue of House Beautiful:
"I love putting mirrors in built-in cabinetry. The mirrors reflect the shimmering light of the chandelier, bouncing it all around the room. The effect at night during a dinner party is incredible." Jonathan Berger
"A mirror makes a fabulous backdrop for art. I love to prop a painting in front, or hang it right on top." Robert Brown
"A mirrored backsplash can give a small kitchen a larger, lighter feeling." Nancy Corzine
