Does your mail box need a makeover? Mine did, and it was so easy and made a surprisingly big difference to my home's overall "curb appeal." Best of all, it's a good feeling to come home and have that perfectly pretty mail box greet me at the drive. All it took was a new coat of paint on the post and box and some new brushed nickle numbers. My mail box is really simple so I stuck with one color (with a red flag of course) but I love the contrast of two colors for more elaborate posts/boxes. I got the numbers from my local hardware store and they came complete with adhesive backing! This project took about 20 minutes total and under 30 dollars.
Now I'm all ready for this season's party invitations and holiday cards!!

The chilly nights are upon us and there is nothing more cozy than being wrapped in your favorite blanket (like ours from Barefoot Dreams) watching a movie. Question is where is one to store the many throws your family has strewn all over the family room?? Answer: a beautiful basket.
Here are a few affordable baskets that will add a special something to any decor. Other uses: kid's shoes, magazines, toys, firewood..
Curved Basket - West Elm $54
Basay Basket - Crate and Barrel $59.95
Ghana Bolga Baskets - $30 and up

I've been scouring the internet for inspiring Halloween decor. I'm co-hosting an adult Halloween party and throwing a children's Halloween birthday party too, so I want to find cute but sophisticated decorations (if there is such a thing) that can do double duty. Here's some of my favorites that I've found so far. I'll keep you posted as find more!
The candy jars are awesome are so is the blog where I found them: House of Smiths

We love these vintage hand-made cake stands + coasters. They are perfect for holiday, hostess & housewarming gifts. Arrive at your next party with a dessert prettily displayed on one of these keepsake plates or wrap up a bottle of wine and include a set of one-of-a-kind coasters made from vintage fabric. She'll be happy you did.

My husband is a big fan of Vanity Fair, reads it cover to cover, and I likes to look at the photos. He made the mistake of telling me about VF at The Conde Nast Store and now I'm loving the iconic vintage covers and framed photos from past editorials. I want them all! Looking to deck your walls? Check it out! What's your favorite? Which one should I get?
